Peter was a wonderful and inspiring conductor who introduced us to all kinds of glorious music and gave audiences such pleasure through our concerts. At this time of year, we will especially remember singing under his direction around the British Library Christmas tree as it was lit for the first time every December.

Peter was a younger colleague of mine in the British Library Slavonic Department for over twenty years. His passing is unexpected and very sad news.

I didn’t really know Peter, but my workshop is 2 doors from his home. We were introduced and had very niche common interests- Russian Constructivism and the history of Chingford Mount. He was a real pleasure to talk with and I will miss him.
